During the 1992–93 season, Jordan led the Bulls to a third consecutive championship while capturing his seventh scoring title, averaging 32.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and a league-best 2.8 steals per game. This press print was shot courtside at Chicago Stadium on April 2, 1993, as Jordan rose over the rim against the New Jersey Nets.

The Sun-Times captioned it simply on the photo desk slip still attached to the reverse: Jordan jams one up and over into the net. It's an original wire-service print, credited to staff photographer Jon Sall and stamped for return to the sports desk — exactly as it moved through the newsroom in 1993.

Jordan closed the 1992–93 postseason averaging 35.1 points per game, including a then-record 41.0 points per game in the Finals against Phoenix, earning his third straight Finals MVP. Four months later he would retire for the first time. Photographs from this stretch of the season sit at the very end of the original three-peat era.
