The 1982-83 season was Jordan's second at North Carolina, the year after he hit the championship-winning shot as a freshman. He led the Tar Heels in scoring at 18.5 points per game and was named a consensus first-team All-American — the season he emerged as a national star.

College-era Jordan press photographs are among the scarcest images in the hobby, and an original Observer print from his sophomore year — encapsulated by PSA as a Type I Authentic — is a genuine one-of-one artifact from before he was a professional.
