Total D is one of the most iconic Jordan inserts of the early-’90s, and it is unusual for a great reason: it celebrates his defense. It comes from 1992–93 Fleer Series 2 as card 5 of a 15-card insert set honoring the NBA’s best defenders, subtitled ‘The Rock Stops Here.’ The design is a classic of the era — a colorized, deep-etched cut-out of Jordan in the red Bulls road uniform set against a thin black border and a muted grey-toned background, finished with a slick UV coating and gold-foil stamping: ‘Total’ in cursive gold over a large letter ‘D,’ with the ‘Fleer ’92-’93’ logo at the top. The back recounts his defensive résumé — a five-time-running All-Defensive First Team selection who led the league in steals while also leading it in scoring in 1992–93.
The card is notoriously condition-sensitive: the black borders and foil show chipping and white specks at the slightest handling, so true gem mint copies are very hard to find. Of 1,441 graded across all grades, only 29 are PSA 10 — a 2.00 percent gem rate, among the toughest of any Jordan insert from the period. That scarcity is the story here: DimeLabs holds four of those 29, roughly 14 percent of the entire PSA 10 population, each individually graded and certified. The PSA 10 market reflects the difficulty, climbing steadily to a January 2025 average of $17,707. At $30,000 per copy, the four represent a collective position of roughly $120,000.
